Much too slow and dragging from start to the three quarter pole。 Sure, there’s a twisty ending, even full knowledge of one aspect of the technology involved。 But, for the most part, this fourth book—not by the original author—should have been called Bobs vs。 Bobs。

I don't know, but I didn't like this one so much。 It feels like the same old jokes get recycled, there are plot holes in my opinion with all the Bobs and while the action in Heaven's River is interesting, it feels like the book tries to do 2 things (got a similar feeling with the last one as well):1。 Focus on Bob and what he does on a specific planet2。 Focus on the Bobiverse。 The issue with this is the time frame。 One is interesting if we take it day by day, the other decade/century by decade/ce I don't know, but I didn't like this one so much。 It feels like the same old jokes get recycled, there are plot holes in my opinion with all the Bobs and while the action in Heaven's River is interesting, it feels like the book tries to do 2 things (got a similar feeling with the last one as well):1。 Focus on Bob and what he does on a specific planet2。 Focus on the Bobiverse。 The issue with this is the time frame。 One is interesting if we take it day by day, the other decade/century by decade/century。 I felt a small disconnect there。 My main gripe is that there are obvious things that they could have done/should have done which are not present in the book, unless it is convenient for the plot。 Ending the series on book 3 is ok to be honest。 。。。more

Fund read, a good return to the BAWBES。

We interrupt this program for a longer than usual Bobiverse episode。 Like, seriously too long, especially in the beginning。 Once it picks up steam, it's better, but then the plot quickly resolves itself and we're back to status quo, although the pieces on the board are now realigned。Milking it for what it's worth, but I can't complain。 If only Mr。 Taylor would write them fast enough。Subtracting one star for shitting on readers with timed audiobook exclusivity。 We've finally reached full circle a We interrupt this program for a longer than usual Bobiverse episode。 Like, seriously too long, especially in the beginning。 Once it picks up steam, it's better, but then the plot quickly resolves itself and we're back to status quo, although the pieces on the board are now realigned。Milking it for what it's worth, but I can't complain。 If only Mr。 Taylor would write them fast enough。Subtracting one star for shitting on readers with timed audiobook exclusivity。 We've finally reached full circle as book formats are now engaged in platform wars, as if they're video games。 A giant middle finger to Amazon/Audible。 And yes, I'm aware Goodreads is also owned by Amazon。 。。。more

Wow! This series is so damn good。 It's actually been a couple of years since I'd read book 3, and I was concerned that maybe this new book wouldn't hold up to the strong memories I had of the first books。 Glad to report that my concern was not warranted - this was a great story, full of deep thoughts and lots of action。 I hope it's not the last one! I really love the "Bob" series。 This book looks at the problems of several societies as they expand and conflict with each other。 Interesting parallels to humans。 I really love the "Bob" series。 This book looks at the problems of several societies as they expand and conflict with each other。 Interesting parallels to humans。 。。。more

He did it again!Loved it。 While I forgot some of the story that got us here, this book was an exciting and easy read。 I laughed out loud a few times too。 Thanks Dennis!

I loved this book。 The narration is still brilliant, and the story is engaging! I wish it were longer。 The Bobiverse is one of my favourite places, and seeing the conflict and complications of the growing cohort was fascinating。

JEFFREY S SCHULMAN JR

A really compelling story that explores the future interection between man and machine, and the future of humanity among the stars。

Good shit。 Next book please。

Down round for the series。 Didn't even finish reading it because I got so bored with the whole save Bender subplot。 Down round for the series。 Didn't even finish reading it because I got so bored with the whole save Bender subplot。 。。。more

I loved the first three books in the Bobiverse series。 They were clever, fun, fast moving。 This one dragged。 The characters mainly sat around and talked, they seemed pretty down, and it just didn't have the vibrancy of the first three。 It did have an interesting idea about a new world, but aside from that it was pretty dry。 I started and stopped it several times, and finally got myself to finish it。 I loved the first three books in the Bobiverse series。 They were clever, fun, fast moving。 This one dragged。 The characters mainly sat around and talked, they seemed pretty down, and it just didn't have the vibrancy of the first three。 It did have an interesting idea about a new world, but aside from that it was pretty dry。 I started and stopped it several times, and finally got myself to finish it。 。。。more

This was another great installment in this series。 Everything about this story keeps me engaged。 The science is so fascinating and the characters so well developed。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys syfi novels。

Perfect Bobiverse story。 Dennis E。 Taylor is a fantastic author who, in this series, has captured the core(s) of what it means to be human and turned them against each other。 Engaging, entertaining, funny as hell, challenging。。。 I really can't recommend it highly enough Perfect Bobiverse story。 Dennis E。 Taylor is a fantastic author who, in this series, has captured the core(s) of what it means to be human and turned them against each other。 Engaging, entertaining, funny as hell, challenging。。。 I really can't recommend it highly enough 。。。more

This together with the second book is my absolute favourite in the series。 Any Sci-fi, tech and astronomy fans out there: you will want to read this book。

Continuing the adventure in the land of Bob。 A weaving journey filled with twists and turns as new revelations and discoveries are made。 Filled with nerdy references and asking big questions but maintaining the same enjoyable vibe as the original trilogy。

You know any series that starts with a book called We Are Legion (We Are Bob) is going to be fun, this entry in the series continued this fun tone。 It was a little slower than previous books and the jokes were spaced further apart, giving more time to consider the more serious questions raised。 The previous three books all had a serious side to them, but if you just came for the laughs you may not appreciated the less wacky feel of this book。 I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to book 5。 You know any series that starts with a book called We Are Legion (We Are Bob) is going to be fun, this entry in the series continued this fun tone。 It was a little slower than previous books and the jokes were spaced further apart, giving more time to consider the more serious questions raised。 The previous three books all had a serious side to them, but if you just came for the laughs you may not appreciated the less wacky feel of this book。 I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to book 5。 。。。more

IntriguingNot nearly perfect so not 5*。 Interesting premise, leads to geeky story。 Occasional laughs along the way。 Not really enough sense of wonder at the mega structure, too samey once inside - not a ring, rama, or riverworld, but parts of all three。

A pretty good listen, the Bobiverse continues to expand and replicative drift is causing the Bob's to vary so much that civil war seems a possibility along with dealing with fractious humans and the Pav。 Amidst this, original Bob decides to find out what happened to one of his early descendants (Bender) who vanished without a trace a couple hundred years ago and discovers alien mega-structures。 It's an enjoyable exploration of world building and how societies formed from a collection of copies o A pretty good listen, the Bobiverse continues to expand and replicative drift is causing the Bob's to vary so much that civil war seems a possibility along with dealing with fractious humans and the Pav。 Amidst this, original Bob decides to find out what happened to one of his early descendants (Bender) who vanished without a trace a couple hundred years ago and discovers alien mega-structures。 It's an enjoyable exploration of world building and how societies formed from a collection of copies of a single individual could eventually evolve into something significantly different。 。。。more

This was just as enjoyable as the earlier ones。 The only slight negative was the sense of the scale of it all was lower without the coming obliteration of basic humanity。 But still, it was very solid。 It might have dragged a tiny bit at points, but nothing excessive。

I've enjoyed this series quite a bit and it seems to get better as it goes。 This one dragged just a little at times but overall was really satisfying。 Bob (THE Bob) is part of a search-and-rescue mission to retrieve Bender。 A faction of Bobs emulating Star Trek become belligerent and try to enforce a "prime directive。" Another Bob faction is obsessed with building an AI from the ground up。 What do these plots have to do with each other, if anything? That's for me to know and you to find out。 I've enjoyed this series quite a bit and it seems to get better as it goes。 This one dragged just a little at times but overall was really satisfying。 Bob (THE Bob) is part of a search-and-rescue mission to retrieve Bender。 A faction of Bobs emulating Star Trek become belligerent and try to enforce a "prime directive。" Another Bob faction is obsessed with building an AI from the ground up。 What do these plots have to do with each other, if anything? I've really enjoyed the Bobiverse series。 The humor is entertaining and the science is really cool。 by this fourth book, several of the main story lines in books 1-3 have been closed out and there is a major focus on the Heaven's River expedition。 I enjoyed this book, but could definitely feel a little fatigue with the Bobiverse。 Glad to wrap this up and move onto another adventure。 I've really enjoyed the Bobiverse series。 The humor is entertaining and the science is really cool。 by this fourth book, several of the main story lines in books 1-3 have been closed out and there is a major focus on the Heaven's River expedition。 I enjoyed this book, but could definitely feel a little fatigue with the Bobiverse。 Glad to wrap this up and move onto another adventure。 。。。more

Quite a change of pace, with most of the action concentrating on one main thread (the Heaven's River exploration-mystery) and one secondary one (the whole Starfleet thing), longer chapters and fewer key characters。 I quite liked that, actually - the 743 Bobs and 473 locations were getting hard to keep track of。Will this be the last book in the series? The mild cliffhangers have been dutifully inserted, so I guess we just wait for the sales numbers to come in。Also, my copy seems to have been the Quite a change of pace, with most of the action concentrating on one main thread (the Heaven's River exploration-mystery) and one secondary one (the whole Starfleet thing), longer chapters and fewer key characters。 I quite liked that, actually - the 743 Bobs and 473 locations were getting hard to keep track of。Will this be the last book in the series? Badgers and Starfleet and Brainiac , Oh my!If a Bob in a badger Manny goes sliding down a stream, is he still Bobsledding? I liked this book。 Some of the science was disconnected but mostly intact and very believable。 I love the nerd humor from the Bobiverse。
